About Us

The mission of Loisaida Youth Soccer (LYS) is to promote exemplary programming in the sport of soccer as a means of building character, improving physical health and well-being for New York youth especially those on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Participants will learn to play soccer, be exposed to competitive sport, learn good sporting behavior and teamwork, have a ball and build community as they play. We value diversity and individuality as a source of community strength. Our goal is to make soccer available to all children regardless of gender, ethnicity, or income. To this end we offer scholarships for low-income children.

Founder and Co-Executive Orlando Gil, a US Soccer Federation license C coach, Ph.D in Cell and Molecular Biology, father,activist, and soccer player.

As our Head Coach likes to be called, Coach Ray, is a US Soccer Federation license B coach, Manhattan Soccer Club coach and soccer Dad. Ray has played professionally in his home country of Jamaica.

Coach Assane Campaore, trained in his native country Bourkino Faso rising to play on the national team, soccer player Assane brings his love and expertise in the game of soccer to our lucky LYS youth.

Coach assistant Arianna Gil. Musician, Artist, Soccer fanatic and plays with Gotham Girl Football Club & has played on the select team with CJSL And "best friend" to the little ones.
